Cherrapunji, India

Deep in the rainforest of Meghalaya India, crossing the vast amount of rivers and mountain streams can be troublesome, being one of the wettest regions on the planet. Hundreds of years ago the War-Khasis took notice of a certain tree and its powerful roots named the Ficus elastica. This amazing Indian rubber tree has some of the most powerful roots in the world. Although it takes a bit more fineness and patience to grow a bridge instead of just building one, the end result is out of this world. It takes several lifetimes to complete one of these but upon their completion they can support the weight of up to 50 people.
